Orchid enthusiast during the 1940s in the floral district of New York. The wholesale shop was located south east corner of 28th street on 6th avenue. The wholesale floral industry was restricted to only sell to retail shops during that era. During that time there were 50 cut flower wholesale shops. All received up to 80% of their flowers from nearby farms.

Cattleya Orchids became a fashion statement and a symbol of luxury. during 1900s-1960s. So much so that a woman never went to a formal event without her orchid corsage during these years. Eleanor Roosevelt ordered these types, which obtained world renowned fame.
